David Suzuki Foundation's January Nature Challenge Newsletter

I just sent an e-mail urging Environment Minister Dion to legislate better fuel efficiency standards for cars in Canada. Improved fuel efficiency would mean our vehicles won't use as much gas as they do now. The result: better air quality and reduced emissions that cause climate change.

Please visit the David Suzuki Foundation's Nature Challenge newsletter to send an e-mail encouraging Minister Dion to make a difference.

  • According to the David Suzuki Foundation, more than 2,700 people took the time to write an email to Environment Minister Dion, urging him to continue working to improve car fuel efficiency by 25% by 2010. It helped!

Minister Dion’s initiative is now at the highest level and an agreement is close at hand.

But industry is pushing hard to make the agreement "voluntary" or use an "emissions trading" scheme that won't improve fuel efficiency, reduce pollution or help consumers one bit.

This issue is most urgent. Please send an email (see below) in support of cleaner vehicle standards. This would be a big win for all North Americans!
