Five lakh people to be relocated to save environment

Putting an end to sand storms:
Beijing, Mar. 11 2005
"Nearly five lakh people living in the mountainous outskirts of Beijing are being relocated to protect the environment and prevent frequent sand storms in the Chinese capital, the state media reported today.

People living in the mountainous regions of Men Tougou and Yanqing on Beijing's outskirts will be relocated to protect the fragile eco system and reduce sand storms, 'Beijing Times' reported."

Apparently, more trees and grass means fewer sand storms.
