Canada Sees Threat from Toy Guns
On Thursday, Canada said it was ordering the recall of 21,000 Chinese-made toy guns because the weapons contained soil which could potentially contaminate Canadian crops and forests.
Apparently, each toy rifle contained a bag of soil used as a weight.
“The soil may spill out and release destructive insects, microscopic worms, fungi or bacteria that could spread into Canadian crops and forests,” The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a statement.
I wonder how many of the guns were actually sold and how many they will actually be able to recover. I doubt they will locate all 21,000.
I guess the real lesson here is that Canada should be making its own toy guns with its own soil! Or, maybe not.
