Cell Phone Update

Regular readers of this page will have seen previous posts regarding cell phones, medical studies and possible concerns.

And so it continues... Associated Press is reporting today that, "In Britain, the chairman of the National Radiological Protection Board advised in January that parents should not give mobile phones to children age 8 or younger as a precaution against the potential harm of radiation from the devices."

Something to think about: Apparently, when you use a cell phone, 70 to 80 percent of the energy emitted from the antenna is absorbed by the head.

We'll have more as it becomes available.

  • That is quite frightening.

But only 70-80%. At least it's not 90%. Ha!

I read somewhere, I think it was in Sync Magazine (not the most scientfic of sources) that only if your body is in direct contact with the antenna will it harm you.

  • Hmmm, interesting. If that's true, I wonder how that plays out for cell phones without antennas (like mine!).
