April 2005: Misc.
Insert "Dead On Your Feet?" Joke Here
According to the CBC,
“a no-frills funeral company in Australia has received the go-ahead to create a cemetery where bodies will be buried standing up to save space and lessen environmental impacts.
Instead of being buried lying down in traditional coffins, people will be buried in 3.2-metre-deep holes, standing upright in simple, biodegradable body bags. Their graves won’t be marked with headstones.
Then, when the new cemetery is full, the company can turn the land back into a grazing pasture for farm animals.”
