Granny Knows Best

Are you harming yourself and your loved ones just because you want clean bath tiles? You might be. Many household cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can cause headaches or dizziness. The effects are even worse on children who are especially vulnerable to these chemicals.

The good news is that you can do something about it. As the David Suzuki Foundation reports, concern over chemical cleaners has created a marketing niche for manufacturers of natural household cleaning products. It's definitely worth trying out “green” cleaning products.

  • I think you have to be careful with the real harsh stuff because other than making you sick or killing you, it can also damage or destroy the grout.

  • This is sort of related...

I really wish that certain restaurants would stop using Windex as their table cleaner! There is nothing worse than trying to eat and then smelling Windex. Or worse -- if they spray it on you while you are eating! This has happened to me!

    The same goes for bleach.

I think that while they are open, a simple mix of vinegar and water is sufficient. And, if they want to disinfect, do it when they are closed.
