In the David Suzuki Foundation’s latest newsletter they tackle the desire to keep the outdoors great while camping. In the wrong hands, camping can lead to land erosion, pollution and species extinction. But it doesn’t have to. Here are some of their tips to protect our campgrounds and wilderness.

DO use a stove for cooking instead of a campfire. DO camp where others have gone before. DO stay on the beaten path. DON’T give nature a makeover. DON’T build high-impact campfires.
