From September 16th until October 30th Toronto Hydro is giving every Toronto household 2 FREE compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs at any Bright Ideas event at The Home Depot!

- You can save approximately $27 in energy costs over the life of a compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb.Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) last up to ten times longer than incandescent bulbs.
- You only need to replace CFLs every five to six years - saving you money in the cost of replacement bulbs.
- CFLs use up to 75% less energy than comparable standard light bulbs to produce the same amount of light.

Does this only include Toronto or is the GTA included?

It seems to mostly involve Toronto Home Depots. They include Yorkdale, Etobicoke, Rexdale, Caledonia, Curity, Eglington East, Morningside, Stockyards, Gerrard Square, Leaside and Scarborough.

Coincidentally, I just installed one of those today in my kitchen for a burnt out incandescent bulb that came with home and lasted about one year from when we moved in.
I am slowly replacing all existing incadescent with fluorescent as needed.
