First Day of Spring
Yesterday was the first day of spring. So, it’s a good time to start thinking of some green things to plan to do this spring and summer to help the environment and yourself.
Here’s a quick list off the top of my head:
• Compost
If you don’t have one already, get a backyard composter and start diverting your food waste to the compsot bin and not to the landfill. Take a look at this composter. It’s fairly cheap and easy to use.
• Rainwater Collection
Collect rainwater and use to water your plants and grass. Saves water and money. Here’s an inexpensive device to divert your rainwater.
• Walk or Bike
With warm weather coming, now is a perfect time to start walking or biking more. Leave the car at home when you can and you’ll pollute less, save money and stay fit.
• Spring Cleaning
If you have any old junk to throw out, why not auction it off on eBay, sell at a garage sale or give it to charity. Reuse!
• Garden
If you are going to compost and collect rainwater, you might as well plant a nice garden! Gardening is a great way to get outside.
I know I have missed a lot of stuff, but we will add more! Add your own tips and ideas to the comments area of this post!
