Spring Cleaning: Natural Problem Solvers
Sure, we’ve mentioned these things before, but it doesn’t hurt to spread the love with a few reminders now and again. And with that in mind, here are a few natural problem solvers for spring cleaning season…
To clean mildewed bathroom and shower walls, try to avoid the bleach-laden cleansers out there that give you a cough for a day and make your eyes redden and water. We’ve tried them. They really do get rid of the mildew but feeling sick for a day or longer is not the best trade-off. Instead, try spraying your afflicted surfaces with white vinegar, wait a few minutes, then wipe the walls dry. Bad patches can be more deeply scoured with a scrubber or old toothbrush that has been dipped in a paste of borax - a natural mineral compoud, of course - and water.
To mop your floor, combine a bucketful of hot water and a cup of white vinegar, along with a drop of Murphy Oil Soap for good measure. Then mop or scrub away.
For windows, a mixture of two cups water, a half cup distilled white vinegar and a half teaspoon of plant-based dish soap will do the trick. Spray, wait thirty seconds and then wipe.
Hope you enjoyed Spring Cleaning Week. See you next week for Green Beauty Secrets Week!
