The Bubble
The average consumer is bombarded with demands on their time and their disposable income. Most also suffer information overload about the problems of the world, the state of the nation and their health and competing views on how to improve all of these things. At the same time, most people want to do the right thing defined narrowly as the best for themselves and loved ones and more broadly, as the best for the planet and the global community.
Unfortunately, when taken together, these circumstances - no time, limited money, too much conflicting information - often make considered consumption decisions impossible. That’s where The Bubble tries to come in; it is a clearinghouse-of-sorts for ethical businesses.
The Bubble is a place to go to learn about the complexity of a variety of global/local concerns while at the same time, having alternatives and solutions at one’s fingertips. Working to simplify the process of making ethical choices without simplifying the problems, The Bubble also links what appear to be unrelated concerns so that for example, choosing organic produce is better for your health but also promotes biodiversity, improves working conditions for farm labourers, reduces the abuse suffered by farmed animals and encourages consumption of locally produced food thus reducing carbon emissions in transportation.
