Green Roofs On CBC Radio

It’s audio clip time here on Greenthinkers. This week CBC Radio (Metro Morning host Andy Barrie to be exact) spoke with Steven Peck, the president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, and with Camilla Troughten, part of a team that spearheaded the building of a green roof at Jackman Avenue Public School (a Toronto school).
It’s an interesting conversation on green roofs in the urban environment.
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities is not-for-profit network of public and private organizations. Its mission is to increase the awareness of the economic, social, and environmental benefits of green roof infrastructure across North America and rapidly advance the development of the market for green roof products and services.
Although the current market does not value many of the tangible public and private benefits of green roofs to their full potential, they are striving to facilitate changes that will bring green roof technologies to the forefront of high performance green building design, implementation and maintenance.
