Hypocrite anyone?
Greetings!
This is my first entry on Greenthinkers and i’m very excited to be a part of this site.
I sometimes feel like i’m a hypocrite. Why you ask? Well because i’m not as green as I think I should be. Actually i’m not as green as I know I should be and it’s frustrating. I do some good… I recycle, we garden, buy organic as much as possible, 1 of our 2 vehicles is eco friendly, etc.
With all of the good green things I do, there is still something out there that haunts me and that is not being a vegetarian. I have tried a few times but it didn’t last very long. I grew up in a meat eating family as did my partner and so I find it very hard to rid myself of the craving. Has anyone else experienced this in their transition? This is the one thing that just drives me crazy… people automatically assume, since i’m such an environmentalist, that i’m also vegetarian. It’s not the assumption that I mind it’s having to tell them that i’m not. The look of disbelief on their faces is unforgettable.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions? I welcome any and all help I can get to assist me with my next step in green living.
~Peace~
