Reminiscent of something we posted about some time ago, according to AFP a judge in Los Angeles has temporarily banned the US Navy from using a certain type of sonar after environmental organizations said it can endanger marine mammals.

The ruling stated that there was “considerable convincing scientific evidence” that mid-frequency sonar, which the Navy hopes to use to detect quiet submarines, can kill and injure whales and other marine life.
