And while reusing the plastic containers in which bottled water is sold might be showcasing the ‘Reuse’ portion of our three R’s, there is rising concern about bacterial contamination caused by improprly cleaning the bottles (we’re steering clear of the whole BPA and University of Calgary study debate for now). The narrow openings in most of the commercial bottles out there make them difficult to properly clean.
