School Lunch Week: Pumpkin Seed Butter

omegapumpkinseedbutter_photo.jpg

Since peanut butter seems to be banned everywhere but my basement crawl space, why not try some peanut butter substitutes?

One that is getting a lot of praise in the schoolyard these days is Omega Nutrition’s Pumpkin Seed Butter. Omega Nutrition is a manufacturer of flax and oil products, often certified organic, kosher and GMO free. And their pumpkin seed butter is a great source of Omega-6 and Omega-9 EFAs, Vitamins A, E and C, Zinc, and Phytosterols. It’s all-natural and does not contain sugars, fillers, starch, additives, stabilizers or artificial preservatives. And as it’s made from pumpkin seeds and sea salt, it’s perfectly suited for people with nut allergies.

Give it a try - sneak it into Junior’s sandwich and see what happens. And report back!
