Greenthinker Gifts: Global Exchange Thai Globe Lights

globalexchangeglobelights_photo.gif

Recently featured in TIME Magazine, these 20 colorful globes light from Global Exchange up each gift set. Lisu Tribe sewers in Chiang Mai, Thailand create each globe, made from leftover rayon fabric string used by sewers for what is called surging (a sewing term). Sewers create the string globes to utilize every part of the leftover material, instead of letting any go to waste.

Plus, a gift from Global Exchange is guaranteed to have been produced under a fair-trade agreement.
