The Loopwing!

Following up on Neal Dikeman’s post a couple of weeks ago, have you seen these crazy wind turbines that are coming to a home near you, and maybe even yours? That’s right, according to CNET News, we just might be entering into an age of change in the wind power industry.

Rather than build farms of towering wind turbines in rural areas, some companies are designing “micro,” or small-scale, turbines that fit on top of buildings. The idea is to generate electricity from wind in urban or suburban settings.

We’re talking compact wind turbines that, in some cases, can result in up to 30% savings in home energy consumption.

But what’s different from this post and Neal’s back in November? The Loopwing!.
