Faceplates Got Me Down
Why does there have to be so many faceplates?
You know what I mean. The “cool” extra bonus faceplates that come with or are sold as accessories for your mobile phone, Xbox, Nintendo handheld, MP3 player, headphones, watch, laptop, etc. You name the product and somewhere someone is selling a fancy faceplate for it. A quick search on Amazon for faceplate lists 7810 results, including the “sexy” one you see in this post, called Lady Silhouette, in this post.
So why is this a problem? The obvious answer is that they are made of plastic (usually) and add no function to the gadget they are supposed to be attached to. The most annoying is that some items come with the extra faceplates, which probably go completely unused a good majority of the time. The bottom line is they are an unnecessary awste.
So the next time you consider adding a faceplate to say your mobile, think: Do I really need to add hot flames or a tribal pattern to my phone?
