Green Tech at CES
While Greenthinkers didn’t make the trip to CES this year, we did enjoy blow-by-blow accounts from electronics and gadget sites such as Gizmodo and Engadget.
And for us, the stories of most interest involve, of course, green electronics (well, more green, that is). According to Yahoo! Tech, “from energy-efficient TVs and solar-powered chargers to environment-friendly computers, green gadgets are big this year at CES.” They even had a ‘Green Wednesday’.
Two of the announcements that caught are attention include the launch of MyGreenElectronics.org and the introduction of the Kill A Watt from P3 International.
For the latter, simply plug your appliances into the Kill A Watt and assess how efficient they are - a large LCD display counts consumption by the Kilowatt-hour just like utility companies. You can figure out your electrical expenses by the hour, day, week, month, even an entire year. Sounds like fun!
