Logitech's Harmony Rechargeable Remote Control

harmonyremotecontrol_photo.jpg

There’s no denying how cool Logitech’s Advanced Universal Remote Control is. It puts you in control of your entire audio-video system - up to 15 devices including your computer - with just one button. The interactive display even lets you quickly choose a 16:9 ratio for movies and HDTV, or a standard 4:3 ratio for basic television programming.

But what interests us Greenthinkers is the rechargeable battery and included docking station that keeps the remote fully charged. The lithium-ion battery is said to provide up to a week’s charge under normal use and the docking station even allows the remote to be used while charging (for those remote control emergencies).

So what does this all mean? Well, a lot of plastic and metals are still being used here but I guess a few batteries are at least going to be saved.
