Carbon Neutral Journal
There are so many great new blogs out there on environmental issues. Once in a while one stands out amongst the rest, and the Carbon Neutral Journal. This is the publicly announced resolution from a family to become carbon neutral.
From “Of course it will be inconvenient”:
Politics aside, Al Gore isn’t likely to win any Oscars for An Inconvenient Truth. Nevertheless, it gets my vote for Movie of the Year. After all, it inspired my family’s 2007 New Year’s resolution to try to become a carbon neutral household.
To be sure, becoming carbon neutral will involve extra effort, discipline, sacrifice and expense. To varying degrees, so do exercising, dieting and scooping your dog’s poop.
Let’s be honest with ourselves: most New Year’s resolutions fall by the wayside by February; most new gym memberships quickly go unused; and once a couple of extra holiday pounds are lost, so goes the discipline to eat right.
That’s why I’m making my carbon neutral resolution so public. I don’t want to have any potential inconvenience sidetrack my vow.
The rest of the blog is well written and hits many angles of the current green debates out there on climate change and personal behavior. I spent some time digging in the archives, which to tell you the truth, I wouldn’t say I do more than 1% of the blogs that I read. Another RSS feed to add to the top of the list.

Keith Peters did work as a Nike executive for 17 years, where he founded nike.com. Now residing in Jackson Hole, WY, where he runs his own communications company, Keith woke up in the middle of the night one night bothered about Global Warming and specifically his family’s contribution to the problem. It was at that point he decided to start the Carbon Neutral Journal– a weblog documenting his family’s efforts to become carbon-neutral. It is great to see people begin to realize that the first step toward fighting Global Warming is to make the necessary adjustments in their own lives.
