IDS-07: Marmoleum!

I stepped up to the Marmoleum Store booth at the Interior Design Show this weekend with one question - what the heck is marmoleum?

Well, marmoleum is an easy to clean floor material with tonnes of colour and design possibilities. And for our ‘green’ interest, it is made with natural raw materials and installed with solvent free adhesives - no harmful VOC’s here.

The Marmoleum Store promises that raw materials and energy are used efficiently, waste is recycled wherever possible, and emissions are kept to an absolute minimum. Linoleum is produced from renewable materials: linseed oil, rosins, wood flour, jute and ecologically responsible pigments. Plus, it’s actually biodegradable. So they say.

…You might recognize the floor in the pic above from an episode of Design Inc. Remember this one?
