Sustainable Vineyards - Sheep Take Over The Mowing
This 2 min CBS Video reports on how a forward-thinking vineyard in California has cut their fuel use by 50% by using sheep to munch on the grass and weeds that grow between the rows of vines.
It’s stories like these that show the tremendous potential to reduce our fuel use. Much of it could be reduced by employing principals like permaculture to close and shorten energy chains. I imagine that the waste from the sheep and chickens also help nourish the soil of the vineyard.
