Why Business Needs to Lead Green Movement

Yes, Fox News is a bit out there but this piece does raise some good questions that cannot be ignored.

Of course, the faults of one celebrity hypocrite (namely Babs) does not make all other celebrities guilty. But, are celebrities the best way to push the green movement forward? I think they can help promote green ideas and products, but can they hurt it when they are shown to be a bit hypocritical (as we all are from time to time)? Does the power and reach of their message and its effects on the habits of regular folks outweigh their own sometimes non-green ways? Tough to say.

Ultimately, I think green business is going to lead the way to a more eco-nice future. Yep, I said business. Offer green(er) products and people will buy, eventually. Although… losing the hypocrisy is something many/most business will have to work really really hard at.

Throw in some education about buying less, recycling and conservation and things will get better, right? Wait, this last part rests with people. Maybe that’s who will lead the way… Actually, everyone and every company has to work at this together.
