Idle No More

According to Celsias (via Consumerist, which we are quite enjoying these days), comes word from the Canadian Office of Energy Efficiency that if you’re going to be idling for more than ten seconds you’ll save gas by shutting off your engine.
The cost of the wear on your starter is far outweighed by the fuel savings here - maybe something in the region of three to four dollars per tank of gas. Of course, the environmental and health savings are worth noting as well.
