IDS-07 Shaw Floor's Green Edge
This may be our final IDS-07 post and we’ve saved a good one for last - Shaw Floors.
This was an impressive booth and even an impressive brochure - it’s made from chlorine-free, recycled and alternative fibre materials. And it’s printed with soy ink too! But it’s their floors we’re here to talk about. Yes - they have some nice floors. And yes, they even have a Kathy Ireland line of flooring, for some reason. But it’s Shaw’s ‘Green Edge’ that floored us (yuck yuck).
The Shaw Green Edge demonstrates environmental leadership through demonstrable progress. Shaw Industries contributes to the hundreds of environmental initiatives occurring throughout the company that have positive environmental, economic and social impacts. Collectively, these initiatives add up to the Shaw Green Edge. The Green Edge is more than a symbol or wordmark, they believe, it is a signal to their employees and customers that is intent on improving life by design. It’s a simple idea, but when put into practice by Shaw’s 31,000 employees, it amounts to something larger.
One example of many is Eco Solution Q , which contains a minimum of 25% recycled content. And, as a Cradle to Cradle product, EcoSolution Q is fully recyclable back into carpet fiber through depolymerization. This means that Eco Solution Q can be recycled in a continuous loop again and again, forever.
