Saturn Aura Green Line Hybrid

Saturn has announced that the new 2007 Aura Green Line hybrid will soon be released with a MSRP of $22,695, making it the lowest-priced hybrid on the market for 2007, not including the IRS’ $1,300 hybrid tax credit.

In taking on the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry hybrids, the gasoline-electric Saturn Aura Green Line will offer a dramatically lower price and roughly the same high fuel economy rating - 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway (a 30% improvement from the non-hybrid Aura XE model).

The Aura Green Line is a so-called mild hybrid where the car doesn’t ever drive on electric power alone. But it’s advantage, according to AutoWeek, is less weight and mechanical complexity and a much lower price. The hybrid Aura costs just $1,700 more than the gasoline model, mentioned above..

The Aura Green Line is one of four hybrids that Saturn has announced.
