M.A.R.S. Floating Wind Turbine

Get ready for a few posts over the next while touting new power technologies and gizmos. It’s time for the crazy ideas to become a reality. First up, the M.A.R.S. Floating Wind Generator. This helium-filled device will go into production in 2010 and is said to be able to power a small town.
But how does it work? The electrical energy generated by the wind turbine floating 1000 feet above the ground (to take advantage of the more powerful winds up there) travels down a tether rope and is ready to be used.
Pretty simple. Except for all the planes flying around up there.
