Here’s the scary lowdown on formaldehyde, for example: Used in permanent-press fabrics, paint, and the glue that binds plywood and particleboard, formaldehyde causes airway irritation, headaches, dizziness, and nausea and has been linked to asthma and some forms of cancer.
Yikes.
