Green Living Show: EnviroCasket

Yep, you read that right, the EnviroCasket.

Northern Ontario-based Northern Casket Ltd. has been offering a line of coffins with the environment in mind for years. There are 8 different EnviroCaskets made of locally-sourced wood and containing no metal parts and undyed, unbleached cotton fabrics. They are then finished in either natural walnut oil or beeswax — not the traditional petrochemical products such as lacquer, varnish, urethanes and varathanes that release some harmful emissions when buried or cremated.

According to Canada.com, all the products used will completely degrade in 30 to 60 years. assuming that the casket is not placed in a concrete vault.
