I was in my local coffee shop for an eartly-morning (fair trade, organic) pick-me-up this past weekend and noticed a logo on the cups that I had never seen before. It was Green Shift.

Green Shift operate as a for profit company that calls itself a “channel for profit” business because while they believe in profit, they also believe in carefully channelling that profit towards the greater good. Green Shift offers customized services to various commercial, industrial and institutions, often beginning with environmental assessments that look at a various areas involving waste, water, energy, procurement, pollution or anything that stands out as an environmental concern.

And I guess in this case the result was providing biodegradable cups for my awesome local coffee shop.
