Peat Plant Pots
Peat plant pots (say that 5 times fast) eliminate the need for all those annoying temporary plastic pots out there. Canadian-based Northend Floral’s EarthReady peat pots are 100% biodegradable plant pots made of sphagnum peat moss and wood pulp, and sometimes even contain enfolding plant instructions around the pot rather than on another plastic tag stuck in the soil beside the plant.

Since the EARTHready line is planted ‘pot and all’, directly into the soil, there is no pot that needs to be thrown away. This results in shorter production time, earlier maturity and consumer convenience, and a winning combination from grower to gardener. In addition to helping our environment, the EARTHready peat plant pots allow the gardener to plant quickly as there is no need to take the plant out of the pot. One must simply remove the instructions placed around the container and place it directly into the soil.
Awesome, except for the fact that peat is virtually non-renewable as it is extracted from bogs that take over 9000 years to develop. better than plastic?
