Top 5 Green Design Books: Healthy Home Handbook

healthyhomehandbook_photos.jpg

Not to be confused with The Healthy Home Workbook, The Healthy Home Handbook by Alan Berman (Frances Lincoln) is a comprehensive look at assessing risks in the home; decorating materials; heat, light and air; and household appliances and chemicals - and is designed to help create a better living environment inside the home.

Fully illustrated with photographs, diagrams and easy-to-follow charts, the book deals with all the key issues, starting with a re-assessment of traditional design, moving on to reveal the most environmentally friendly floors and floor coverings, walls and wall coverings, paints, varnishes, stains and other finishes, furniture and fabrics and including chapters on recycled materials, insulation, heating, sound and ventilation.

And you can check it out online here.

The last of our Top 5 tomorrow.
