5 More Uncommon Uses For Baking Soda

Well, we might as well proclaim this Baking Soda over here at Greenthinkers. And we might as well bring you 5 more awesome and unheralded uses for baking soda.

  • It is a food-safe way to remove dirt, wax and residue: Sprinkle it on wet vegetables and fruit, scrub and rinse. Easy stuff.

  • It helps maintain normal pH levels in pools: Add 1 1/2 pounds of the stuff for every 10,000 gallons of water to raise the total alkalinity to 10 parts/million. We assume this means something to pool people.

  • It helps keep your skin silky: Step 1, add a 1/2 cup to your warm bath. Step 2, relax.

  • It removes shampoo and product buildup in your shower: Mix baking soda with your shampoo in your hand while in the shower and proceed as normal.

  • It removes crayon from the wall: Be gentle, mix with water, scrub and wipe dry.

Thanks again to Arm & Hammer, via Style At Home Magazine, for the tips.
