12:45am ET Update: We’re watching Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and other special guests rip it up at the Sydney Australia show live online. An act called Eskimo Joe is up next. We were hoping for Colin Hay and the boys.
1:05am ET Update: We can’t ignore the awesome show that’s just getting going in Tokyo Japan. Ai Otsuka’s just starting her set. This is our first Ai Otsuka experience and we’re enjoying it. We’ll toggle back and forth between the Aussie and Japanese shows for a while and see what sticks…
1:15am ET Update: Just got the first interruption to the online feed of the night, due to technical difficulties. It’s time to hit the hay anyway. We’ll try to live blog a bit during the shows tomorrow, between Saturday chores. Acts we’re excited to check out include Baaba Maal and UB40 in Johannesburg, Genesis and Keane in London, and the Smashing Pumpkins and The Police in NYC. This is very reminiscent of Live Aid (the first one, of course)…
