Live Earth Minute By Minute (Part 2)
The live blogging of the Live Earth coverage continues…
8:45am ET Update: As the European shows get underway, toggling between the aging Genesis (Land of Confusion! Yeah!) in London and the aging Snoop Dogg in Hamburg is a nice way to start the morning. And the London show MC has promised us a 15-minute set by Ricky Gervais later. That should be fun.
9:00am ET Update: The Shanghai show seems to be in an interesting venue. But Sarah Brightman made us change the channel pretty quickly.
9:45am ET Update: Snow Patrol just put on a nice set at Wembley. But it only made us wish for another Reindeer Section album even more.
10:15am ET Update: Two words: RIP Slyme. From Japan. Japanese hip hop. Glittery visors all over the place.
11:00am ET Update: Al Gore speech. Predictably fantastic. But did they have to cut off Rihanna live in Tokyo to show it?
12:30pm ET Update: We’re at sort of a slow point of the show. No one on stage at Wembley. Washington is quiet. Johannesburg is quiet. Hamburg is, well, featuring a German band of some sort. Sounds like a good time for us to grab some lunch and recharge. See you for Part 3.
