Live Earth Minute By Minute (Part 3)
The live blogging of the Live Earth coverage continues…
1:15pm ET Update: Bloc Party was great. No surprise there. What was surprising is that the lead singer called The Wave The ‘Mexican Wave’. Who knew?
1:45pm ET Update: Keane, again not surprisingly, put on a fantastic show. A pretty underrated band. And while the celebrity PSAs are pretty well done, we certainly feel for the penned in crowds being fed them continuously on a loop between acts. The NYC show kicks off within the hour.
3:10pm ET Update: Keith Urban is unwatcheable in NYC but that isn’t a problem because Duran Duran is hitting a high in Hamburg. Planet Earth (ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-baa) and all that. Finally the flutes have been silenced in Washington.
3:40pm ET Update: Don’t we all just wish we could be at the Rio De Janeiro concert just for the beach alone. Right now Jota Quest is on stage. Their lead singer needs taller hair was the comment just heard from the cheap seats. Jumping back to London for the PussyCat Dolls, possibly the only Live Earth act with their own reality show (but we can’t confirm that).
3:45pm ET Update: TGiving the NYC show another try, we had the chance to be educated on life by a supermodel who finally threw it to “hip hop prince” (her words) Ludacris who taught us all about environmental “ludacrisnous” (again, her).
3:55pm ET Update: In our minds, it’s more fun to watch artists we’ve never seen before that the ones we see every day. Case in point, we are kind of enjoying JULI’s show from Hamburg this afternoon. We have certainly never heard of them before and so that makes it all the more enjoyable.
4:05pm ET Update: Off to the grocery store. To buy organic food. In my hybrid with my reusable bags in the trunk.
