Local GT: NJ's Bent Spoon

thebentspoon_photos.jpg

We’re starting up another new occasional feature in earnest today: Local GT. Sure, we’ve mentioned a few local hotspots from around the globe (like this one) in the past but we’ve never collected them under one banner. This is so exciting.

Our first official mention goes to Princeton, New Jersey’s The Bent Spoon. While we’re quite disappointed that they gave up making their famous cookies for the summer (what? too hot in the kitchen?) we have to give them a mention all the same. The Bent Spoon pumps out awesome baked goods, flavoured with fantastic locally produced ingredients. Plus, the ice cream is gelato-style and is made using fresh products like local organic eggs and hormone-free cream. I believe there is even a fair trade coffee-flavoured one, if I’m not mistaken. Stop by for a pint, the packaging is reusable!

And as we’re always open to suggestions and looking to visit new places in the private Greenthinkers jet*, send us a note on your favourite local ‘green’ spot, no matter where on the globe you like to hang out, and we’ll try to check it out.

* May not exist.
