Top 5 Green Yard Treats: FSC Wood & Straw
A final backyard treat is the treat we call Home Depot.
5 years ago, Home Depot stopped selling wood sourced from endangered parts of the world like the tropical forests of the southern Pacific Islands. Now it uses responsibly-logged wood certified by groups like FSC, and 94% is from North American forests - they are logging local! They also have shelving, paneling and flooring made from straw (a surprisingly sturdy by-product of wheat farming).
Sounds like they have some good back deck options. Check out their Eco Options page for more detail.
