Simcoe Day is over (Simcoe Day - catch the fever) and we’re back to work. And since we spent a good part of the day yesterday puttering in the official Greenthinkers garden, we thought a garden-related top 5 would be fun. So here we go with the top 5 environmentally-sensitive garden pest fighters.

The tiny sucking insects we call aphids are a big nuisance but can be dealt with quite simply - turn on the hose to the steadiest, strongest stream and get blasting. The Bug Blaster attachment is also quite handy. Aim it at aphids (and also spider mites and whiteflies) and once you’ve doused the plants, spray the plant with a mixture of one teaspoon pure liquid dish soap and a pint of water - a great, simple pest control solution.
