Frankfurt Auto Show: Audi Takes Its Turn
Our non-stop blogging of the Frankfurt Auto Show continues with word from the Telegraph on Audi’s list of new announcements.
A new A4-based e-concept features several fuel-saving measures like clean diesel engine, stop-start system, low-friction tires and tweaked aerodynamics. And get this - turn on the air-conditioner or heated seats and it tells you how much extra fuel you’re using. Increase the cruise control by a few mph and it tells you how many minutes you’ll save for your journey, and how much diesel it’ll need.
Audi also showed a full 4WD hybrid drivertrain, being co- developed with Porsche, involving a gas engine, an electric motor powerful enough to drive the car alone and batteries in the trunk. The system will fit the A4, A5, the next A6 and A8 plus next year’s Q5 SUV.
