Lush Gets Naked

lushgetnaked_photos.jpg

It’s no secret around here that we enjoy the Lush experience.

But we thought it might be nice to tout them once again as they continue their Get Naked campaign - a commitment to eliminating unnecessary and environmentally unfriendly packaging wherever possible. Over 58% of their products are sold unpackaged (you know, naked). And in fact, they have several product lines that don’t require packaging at all. Things like solid shampoos, solid conditioners, deodorants, massage bars and even solid bubble bath!

Beyond that, they are now even concentrating on their shipping packaging for online orders. For instance, they have started using a water-activated, gum-backed paper tape to seal all their outgoing packages. Why? It’s fully recyclable, it’s tamper-proof, it’s tamper-evident, and it’s stronger per square inch than polypropylene (the old plastic stuff).
