Holiday GT: Java-Log

java-log_photos.jpg For the fire lovers in your life, we spotted this fun little product at Home Depot last weekend. It’s Java-Log.

Java-Log is just that - a log made from used coffee beans. It offers a nice alternative to the much detested chemical smell associated often with other fire logs as it has none, and it doesn’t have those pesky environmental concerns either. Here’s what users like about Java-Log:

  1. Better/Brighter Flames. Apparently coffee has 25% more “energy” in it than wood and produces 3 times the flame per unit of “energy”.

  2. No Chemical Odour. Some people even claim to smell a faint sweet aroma.

  3. Reduced Emissions. Java-Log produces significantly fewer emissions than firewood.

And hey, Time Magazine is never wrong.
