Local GT: The LEED Neighbourhood
An entire subdivision of leading-edge sustainable homes built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum standards - the first in Canada - will break ground this week.
Promising to be the country’s most green neighbourhood, the 34 bungalows and two-storeys will use 50% less municipal water (rain water will help irrigate gardens and flush toilets), and 60% less construction waste, greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption compared to conventionally built homes.
Somebody’s giving Greenbridge a run for their money.
