Greenthinkers Welcomes Tabitha Long

I wanted to take a moment and welcome Tabitha Long to the Greenthinkers team. Tabitha has already contributed! You can read her first couple posts here and here. Some more about Tabitha:

Tabitha Long

Tabitha Long is owner of Island Girl Salvage. An architectural salvage company that reclaims fixed architectural items from homes and buildings slated for demolition.

Tab finally started living the life she wanted after forgoing her career in telecom. Since then Island Girl Salvage has opened many doors including the opportunity to be a cover girl at forty for a Duluth Trading Co catalog and singing in a local rock band. Her motto is “Everything old is new again.” She’s a big proponent of saving our building heritage, reusing, reinventing, and recycling building materials for today’s use. She became hooked on salvage when she and her husband Peter began restoring their home in Arlington Heights, IL.

Tabitha is a contributing writer to Architectural Salvage News and The World of Antiques and Collectibles newsletter.

We’re glad to have Tabitha on board and look forward to reading her future posts. Tabitha will be able to offer some great insight being directly involved daily in a “green” business.
