News Blip: Spain Subsidizes Home Upgrades

From France24 today

Spain unveiled Monday a nine-billion-euro (13-billion-dollar) plan involving direct aid and loans aimed at helping 500,000 households boost their energy efficiency between 2008 and 2012. The government will hand out one billion euros in direct subsidies, 200 million euros more than previously announced, with the remaining eight million euros provided in low-interest loans, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said.

Interesting stuff.
