GT World Watch: Big Beaver Dam Spotted From Space

longestbeaverdam_photos.jpg

We realized last week that it’s been a long time since our last GT World Watch, which was something about urine farming. It’s been so long that no one remembers what the heck a GT World Watch is. Well, to clarify, it’s our look at the green news that is a bit out there and may have been missed by your local news reports.

This week, a Canadian ecologist has identified what he believes to be the world’s largest beaver dam in Wood Buffalo National Park in northern Alberta. He discovered the 850-metre long dam while scanning satellite images for signs of climate change.

These folks could not be reached for comment - they were busy working on a new episode now that the writers’ strike is over.
