IT Brings The Heat (To The Pool)
IT always gets a bad rap as a bunch of energy and resource wasters. So here they come, back in our face with some greenness.
An IT centre in Swirtzerland is using heat generated from all its machines to warm a community swimming pool next door. How does it work? The warmth emitted by the computers is piped through a heat exchanger to boost the temperature of the water in the pool.
Cool idea. Sorry, that should read ‘hot idea.’
