The southern Swedish town of Vaexjoe is a world leader in environmental protection. And that’s why it’s currently playing host to a bunch of international delegations visiting the town to see the initiatives it has taken on.

According to AFP, here are some examples of the measures Vaexjoe has introduced to help fight climate change:

• New apartment buildings constructed entirely out of wood.

• Biofuels used to heat homes.

• Research on second-generation biofuels.
